Pupils at the school – which is a member of SCCCI – have set up a Young Chamber. The purpose of Young Chamber nationally is to “Bring together young people and employers in their area - straightforward, non-prescriptive and direct...”
We will work together with South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI), who are based at Crewe Business Park. They represent businesses across this area, and join local businesses together, providing one voice for them, and also benefits and services for all their members.
We will produce a Young Chamber Action Plan - and submit to Young Chamber teachers Mrs Jones and Mrs Bradley supported by Mrs Wilkinson. We will then produce Action Plan updates, and regular progress reports for the whole school. We will review business proposals submitted to the Young Chamber Council from across the school population and make decisions about support to be offered.

What is the Fairtrade Fellowship, and what is it for?
The Fairtrade Fellowship is a very important group in Kings Grove School, that was formed during 2006/2007 to promote Fairtrade in the school and also to gain Fairtrade Status.
In February 2011, Fairtrade accepted our application for our new Fairtrade status. They said: “Your school‘s aproach to Fairtrade is very professional and you have a very commited group of students. It will be very interesting to hear next time if you have had any lasting effects on the primary schools.” We are honoured to hear that Fairtrade think so highly of us.
Lewis Cooper, who was the Finance Manager last year had this to say: “Dedication and loyalty, hard work and focus is what makes Fairtrade such a successful King‘s Grove business - keep up the good work.”
Kings Grove’s Fairtrade Fellowship have worked extremely hard to renew the Fairtrade status. After months of eager waiting and thanks to everyone's support, we achieved our Fairtrade Status and now we are striving to promote Fairtrade around the school through various activities, including Bingo nights and also running the Café and Snack Shack. Please keep buying our products! We will keep you informed on any upcoming Fairtrade events.
Chloe Brooks in 9S has been elected as the new Chairperson for 2011 - the first time ever for a girl!

What is our School Enterprise Council?
The Council is made up of representatives from all year groups who are voted onto the Council by their peers. These pupils are then involved in decision making and project development within school. Much of this is linked to business and enterprise matters.
The aim of the School Enterprise Council is to give pupils greater responsibility and more direct contact with business people and experience of social enterprise.
We hope that by developing this approach, more pupils will be committed to learning about and understanding business and enterprise. It can also bring a new and exciting dimension to links with the business community.
Student Voice is a way of involving students in the organisational structure of the school community.
Our School Enterprise Council help students to develop new types of relationships with their teachers. It also helps them gain greater ownership of their school.
Being part of the School Enterprise Council can ensure that every student gets the best education and enjoys it. It will help them to further develop their enterprise skills and capacities, which they can apply to all curriculum areas to improve development.
Through the School Enterprise Council fund raising for local, national and international charities will be supported.
Pupils can create business projects and programmes and take them forward with local and national businesses.
Through the Council, students can broaden their views and attitudes towards business and employment and gain relevant skills, invaluable for later life.
